Media Sources & Image Credits
Transparency regarding photographic sources, asset provenance tracking, and intellectual property.
1. Visual Media Sourcing Overview
Sole Showdown is a browser-based casual sneaker game built around randomized head-to-head Arena matchups, Elo-based rankings, earned Coins, Booster Packs, and a persistent digital card collection.
To present sneaker matchups clearly and consistently, the game utilizes visual media sourced from multiple legitimate categories, including:
- Unsplash community photography
- Original platform photography
- Explicitly permitted or licensed sources
- Merchant or product media assets where appropriate for descriptive identification
Asset-by-Asset Provenance Tracking
Image provenance is tracked on an asset-by-asset basis. Where source information is available and verified, Sole Showdown records the source, photographer or rightsholder, and applicable usage basis.
Because our catalog is actively maintained and continually updated, verification status is managed progressively. We do not claim that every asset in the catalog has completed universal verification.
2. Unsplash Photography
Many photographs used by Sole Showdown are sourced from Unsplash. Photographer and source information is tracked internally for verified assets and may be displayed where appropriate.
Images sourced under the Unsplash License are utilized in accordance with its commercial and non-commercial terms.
Sourcing photography from Unsplash does not imply that Unsplash endorses, sponsors, or is affiliated with Sole Showdown, nor does an Unsplash license grant proprietary trademark rights belonging to third-party footwear manufacturers.
3. Photographer & Creator Attribution
If a verified photographer/source credit is available, Sole Showdown may display it. If no verified credit is available, no source attribution is fabricated.
Verified photographer attributions are displayed where the interface supports creator credits, including sneaker card plaques in the Arena.
Sole Showdown does not use generic, unsubstantiated archive labels (such as 'Brand Archive' or manufacturer archive claims). Where creator attribution cannot be verified to our standards, the credit is omitted rather than filled with an invented source claim.
4. Internal Provenance Process
Sole Showdown maintains an internal asset-provenance process to track source information and verify that production images can be traced back to their recorded source.
The provenance management system maintains structured records for catalog imagery, tracking core attributes including:
- Originating source URL and platform identifier
- Photographer, creator, or rightsholder identity
- Source category and applicable license model
- Verification status and review lifecycle state
- Cryptographic content and file fingerprints ensuring production assets correspond precisely to verified originals
Data Confidentiality
To safeguard technical infrastructure and operational security, internal cryptographic hash manifests, raw storage paths, and preliminary review queues remain restricted to internal operations and authorized compliance review.
5. Trademark Ownership & Brand Independence
All third-party brand names, silhouette designations, model trademarks, and footwear designs displayed or referenced on Sole Showdown—including, but not limited to, Nike, Air Jordan, adidas, Converse, Puma, Vans, New Balance, Asics, and Reebok—are the registered trademarks and intellectual property of their respective trademark holders.
Sole Showdown is an independent casual game operated by Golden Hour Labs. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, authorized by, or endorsed by any footwear brand or manufacturer.
The display of footwear trademarks and product imagery is solely for descriptive identification in gameplay matchups and Elo-based rankings. No commercial partnership or endorsement is implied unless explicitly stated.
6. Rights Concerns & Contact
Sole Showdown respects the rights of photographers, creators, and trademark owners. If you are a photographer, rightsholder, or authorized representative and believe an image is incorrectly attributed or should not be used, contact us with the relevant image or page reference.
